More fun with the Nashville high strung guitar.
Putting finishing touches on this song, and once again, I’ve turned to Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Tusk’ for inspiration.
‘End of Love’ by Jason Doty.

Working on a new Jeff Slate album, with contributions from Duff McKagan and Earl Slick🔥

Making remote music with David Saw and Darby Patterson. They sent an acoustic guitar and vocal part for this beautiful song, and I was able to create the entire backing instrumentation around them...

Testimonials

I’ve procrastinated regarding this testimonial, because I’m not sure I can adequately articulate what working with Eric has meant to me, and how it’s changed my entire life. I’d been in Cambridge, MA for a number of years, playing regularly at Club Passim, among other places, and immersing myself in the Folk scene. I wanted to make an album that would showcase my talents, while at the same time adding embellishments and additional instrumentation. I wasn’t sure if a “producer” was what I was looking for, but after having listened to Eric’s work it was clear that he was the guy for the job. His name kept coming up every time i asked around, and, as it turns out, he also produced a number of records that I loved. Working with him at Dirt Floor was pure joy, and wholly creative. There was a sense of wonder and possibility in every song, and he heard things that nobody else could have. He would have an idea, and sometimes those ideas worked, sometimes they didn’t. I recently met with Eric to discuss an album project. I’m an acoustic singer/songwriter, so the idea of using his skills as a multi instrumentalist and producer is a very attractive prospect to me, especially having heard much of his work on two Kerri Powers albums. When i arrived for our meeting I found him instantly disarming, kind, and most of all, totally dialed in to what I was looking to do. He had amazing ideas, jumping from drums to piano, to guitar, to pedal steel. There’s a definite childlike wonder to what he does that is infectious, and It was fun watching him disappear into thought, coming back with these amazing ideas. He told me that the best thing we can do, to make the process as smooth as possible, is to get out of the way, and let the song become what it will become. I trust him, and can’t wait to start this album! Thanks Eric, PM

Dirt Floor is a one of a kind experience for songwriters, and musicians, which I would highly recommend. Eric's talents as both a producer and mult-instrumentalist shine, and his calm, cool, guiding personality makes each Dirt Floor session memorable. There is no question of where you go to make beautiful music in the Northeast. Dirt Floor is the place that will leave you with no regrets.
